I believe that having the ability to connect with my clients on so many different levels helps set me apart from the ordinary wedding photographer. I take great pride to not only provide a professional level of service and great products that’ll blow their minds, but to be able to relate & engage with my clients…and through it all to have fun with them! Take for example Kat and Chris. When these two lovebirds came into my studio to meet with me for the first time, I could tell there was going to be a zinger. You could feel it in the air.
We obviously covered the business side of wedding photography and going over images, collection options, and more, but we also got to know each other a bit. Aside from the cappuccinos and chocolate truffles to warm the environment, I take a genuine interest in who I’m dealing with. Well, it turned out that Chris works for the circus – the real circus! – and is a flying trapeze artist. In fact, he’s so good he’s an instructor at the circus school. Kat is an attorney, but loves to “fly” as well and is also very impressive to watch. This was rad to me.

I usually include an engagement session with my collections for two reasons. One, it obviously provides my clients with some killer shots of just the two of them in a casual, relaxed environment. Oh the love! The second reason is because it affords both my clients and myself the opportunity to get to know each other on a different level, both professionally and personally. This way the wedding day isn’t the first time they’re behind the camera, and they tend to be more relaxed when I show up. So all that to say this, Kat & Chris already had their engagement pictures set up with the circus photographer (and they rock!), but I really wanted to know these guys. So they wanted to allow me a glimpse into their lives, and actually invited me up to “fly” with them at the circus school. Are you kidding? Of course I’d love to! For you who know me, don’t I fit right in? LOL ![]()
Alas, the FLYING WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER!
I’m some 25-30 feet in the air! (which the video can only show so much of the entire scene…) Please note the incredible form (haha!). If you ever get the chance to ever try this, you must! Even if you have a “slight” fear of heights like I do! It’s a blast. (Hey, while you’re at it, leave me a comment!)
Here are my incredible clients Kat & Chris in action. What a perfect picture example of a marriage relationship, eh?

Thanks again Kat and Chris for the great experience! I can’t wait until your wedding in September!
Photographers, if you’re not investing who you are into your clients, you’re missing out. Time to step it up and live a little, enjoy what you’re doing of course, and be willing to try new things. Not only will you love it, your clients will love it and love you for it too! Have fun!
